So I started this new promotional scheme that i want everyone to be apart of, i've thought long and hard about the whole thing and spoken to my roommates about it and i've gotten nothing but positive feedback for the idea.
what i've created is a zip file that contains a playlist that consists of 15 songs from various types of musical genres, from 70's free jazz to new wave electronic. the zip file also contains the 15 artists artwork from the album the song comes from, links to their website and lyrics to their songs. i'm also getting help from local artists that do everything from graphic designing, photography, paintings and drawings, links will be provided to the artists flickr, deviantart, or myspace so you can check out their emotions and creativity. each week i'll be posting a new playlist with a download that you can extract and put on your ipod's playlist or any other mp3 device.
I'm calling these playlist 'The Musical Brochure'
my motive is to promote bands, art, and poetry that i think deserves it's recognition.
later in the future i'll be creating an actual playlist on my website that you can hear without downloading.
and i'll probably be working more with local and independent artists.
i'll need all the help i can get, spread the word. my goal is to create an online radio station that breaks the genre quotation and helps independent bands get themselves out there. promotions, interviews, album reviews, reccomedations.
i'll host the zip file on mediafire and will format it with both mac & windows. a link will be provided for either mac or windows. every monday a new playlist will be made.
